DANTE'S HAT TRICK!

Usually, a hat trick refers to something done three times, but Dante takes it to a whole new level.

You may have seen Dante in these outfits sometime in the past, but never before has he worn matching hats!
Dante has taken great care to find just the PURRfect chapeau to accent each outfit.  Why he's becoming a regular fashionista!

Other cats are green with envy when they see Dante all decked out in this green and black ensemble.
"A pox on them!", says he.

Superman may not have donned such a bonnet, but believe me it takes real courage to brave the outdoors in such a combination!  Dante is so 'elf-assured' his confidence cannot be shaken.
"A real mancat kin ware anyfing he wonts!" declares Dante.

Black is back -- on Dante's back at any rate, and he picked just the right offbeat topPURR to go with his 'bad boy' image.  Instead of pumping iron to keep in shape for all those gangstah tussles, Dante chooses only to pump 'kin'!
"If yoo gots 'kin' watchin' yoor back, no bodies kin hurt yoo!", he asserts.

Dante definitely does NOT identify with Tiger Woods!
"Da only tigahs I deals wif comes frum da jungull".

On the lighter side, Dante also enjoys being footloose and fancy free!
"Buttahflies may be free, but dey doan has any feet", remarks he who prefers to keep his on the ground.

Dante definitely likes to be 'in the pink' because it's a sign of good health.  Of course, being totally self-PUSSessed, he wears pink with total elan.
"If 'Hello Kitteh' finks it's pretteh, is good enuff fur me!"

Dante's feline dapPURR in his houndstooth cap!  It goes so well with his striped winter sweater, one would think they were actually made for each other.
"Lotsa dog teef wuz used in da makin' of dis hat, but dey wuz all removed painlessly first, by da doggie dentist.  I do has SUM ethicks, yoo noe!"

At the very least, those poor woofies weren't hounded to death and any tooth that was extracted was first and 'formost' mostly for the benefit of the hounds in question.  (I say 'mostly' because Dante was obviously a beneficiary, too.)

So Dante's Hat Trick is very tricky indeed.  As you can tell from this last case, he had to go above and beyond to find every one of them.

All I can say is "Hat's off to Dante!".  You might as well give them to him because he'll find a way to get them anyway.

DANTE'S BUCKET LIST

Auntie Susan gave Dante this bucket because she thought it looked like him.

"She said I cud yooses it ta watah my gahdin, but frankly I jus' finds him annoying."

"But now dat I has it I hasta make a 'Buckit List'."

"Dere's only one fing on my list and dat's ta get rid of da buckit!  Yoo mite say I wanna kick it to da curb, but is danjerous ta kick da bucket so I has anuddah brite idea."

"Beam him up, Scotty!"

DANTE IN THE GARDEN: THERE'S NOTHING STRANGAH THAN HYDRANGEA!

Dante and I thought we would update you on the state of our front garden.

 Something is changing ...

... and there are clues in these two pictures!

"I'm checkin' fings out frum close range", says Dante.  "An' I kin tell yoo dere is sumfin reely strange goin' on!"

Here are our beautiful blue hydrangeas -- the pride of our garden!

 Except now they're turning pink!!!

This is the thing about hydrangeas.  They can easily turn colour.  Here's a little excerpt that I found on the internet:

"Hydrangeas are fascinating in that, unlike most other plants, the color of their flowers can change dramatically.

It would be nice if one could change the color of hydrangeas as easily ... but for most of us, it is not easy. The people who have the most control over the color of their hydrangeas are those who grow them in containers. It is much easier to control or alter the pH of the soil in a container than it is in the ground.

On the other hand, hydrangeas often change color on their own when they are planted or transplanted. They are adjusting to the new environment. It is not unusual to see several different colors on one shrub the next year after planting.

It is much easier to change a hydrangea from pink to blue than it is from blue to pink. Changing a hydrangea from pink to blue entails adding aluminum to the soil. Changing from blue to pink means subtracting aluminum from the soil or taking it out of reach of the hydrangea."

"So until Dada adds sum aloominums to our gahdin soil ...

... I'm jus' gonna enjoy being in da PINK!

DANTE IS ... CLOSE TO YOU!

In my world, there is nothing more stunning than Dante up close.  So, I thought I'd bring him closer to you, as well,
with a little help from the 'Carpenters' and their classic song "Close to You".

"Why do birds suddenly appear

Every time you are near?

Just like me , they long to be ...

... Close to you!

Why do stars fall down from the sky ...

Every time you're nearby?

Just like me, they long to be ...

... Close to You"

WHAT DANTE TRULY SPHYNX!

Until recently, I never would have thought that Maine Coons and Sphynx cats had very much in common (except that both are part of the Felidae Family, i.e. felines).

In fact they seemed quite like polar opPAWsites!

But then, one day not long ago, Dante actually became a Sphynx himself.

And now that he has learned to to sit and walk like an Egyptian ...

Dante has become part of Maine Coon HISStory.

It's quite the BOWLed statement!

But as Dante says:  "I'm a subcultcha all on my own!

THURSDAY IN THE GARDEN WITH DANTE: HOW "NOT" TO WATER A GARDEN!

It's Thursday and Dante is ready to give you an update on his garden.

"First, I wanna show yoo the best way to watah a gahdin", says Dante.

"You find a sentril spot on hi ground ...

... an' den yoo slowly watahs it so da moisture trickles down to all of de surroundin' plants."

"Acourse yoo hasta move frum spot to spot to get suffishent coverage, but dis tecknique is effishent an' clean."

"Now I tells yoo how NOT ta watah a gahdin.  My Auntie Renate giffed us a big hosta, so I tole Dada ware ta plant it."

"Jus' look at wot Dada did next -- ovah dere!"

"Wot a hosah!  He sprayed watah efurryware except IN da gahdin!  Seems like a reel hit an' miss method ta me."

"Sheesh -- hoomans!  Wot's a pussycat to do?"
